might have to give this a go, never raced downhill before but its a fun day out designed for people like me right?
I am thinking to do it on my lopes xDDD any way if someone have a video of a track - that will help a lot!!!
you should be fine on hardtail , they are likely to use the rocky run which only has 2 short rough sections to worry about , but you will make up time on thru the S's and on the flat before the ditch jump
no they have changed the course this time, they are using another trail that still uses the big double
i have entered this time, going to be my first race

Shadow and eveyone else..
The track is half decent and this event is aimed at all levels.
There is no pressure and no big ego's, except mine!
The track itself uptop will suit a full on DH bike whilst the bottom half the hardtail would be preferential.
See you all there!
Si..

i was talking to chris earlier si, theyre not using the main run, theyre building a brand new track as we speak
but once again it will be ridable on any type of bike, not just 9 inch race rigs
Yep, I can't ride DH with flats on my hardtail because I have very old V8s that have lost most of their grip combined with normal skateshoes so my feet just bounce off the pedals.
Plus I just prefer clipless anyway.
Plus I just prefer clipless anyway.
I never been riding Downhill and have been offered to ride DH in the mountains while i've been on the mountain cross competition...I was too scared to use clipless on a proper DH track...But as I understood forest of dean is just mDHi
I don't know why people have a thing about using spuds for DH, if you can use them properly then it really isn't a big deal.
the mini DH is definately a gd starting race, the one at chicksands was my 1st and i did it on a 100mm XC bike
dunno about the forest of dean track tho, i'd assume it won't be MEGA tricky.
ive raced it and its great! real gd atmosphere and awsome tracks (although u do have to push up) sponsers relly support the event to
ye i think it is they call it the 20fter but it doesnt feel that big and its ok not to make it as its a table then after that there is a road gap id recomend taking the lower take off cus it keeps the speed much better
I think the vast majority of entrants are first time racers,i did the first one they had here and it too was my first race, there was no ego`s at all everyone had an absolute blast,i will be there again for the 3 races without a doubt, all the tracks in FoD are suitable for hardtail as well as sussers, there are some vids on my profile of a few of the tracks.

Sorry, i meant to comment on my personal profile (Face-plant) would be my 1st race too, i run the outlet team so all the riders will have a good old giggle at my expense.
There has been quite a bit of work done on the track to day,
there are some photos up on www.minidownhill.com
