Cycle Show at Earls Court in London.

Posted: Oct 2, 2008

Down to the big smoke it is Dick, where the streets are paved with Gold. I hate London, it’s dirty, smelly, congested, over populated and everyone is too busy to be polite.

So why go, the Olympics aren't for another four years? The Cycle Show 2008 of course!

With the cycle industry booming due to the fact everyone is fat, the price of petrol is off the Richter scale and we brought back the bacon whilst in Beijing. Joe Public and the industry need somewhere to go and mingle, network and checkout what’s hot and what’s not.

2008 promises to be better than last year with major presences from the big bike manufacturers like 2Stage Bikes, GT, Trek, Specialized, Scott and Raleigh all out in force as well as Cannondale who make their first appearance at Earls Court this year.

You’ll also get a chance to see BMX Superstar Shanaze Reade and MTB legends Rachel, Gee and Dan Atherton, ask them some questions and see their trusty two wheeled steeds.

Throw in the following and Bob’s your Uncle:

Volvo/Tirol Mountain Bike Test Track
Commuter Test Track
The Condor Retail Zone
Brompton Bike Park
Jim Walker Duathlon
Kid's Test Track
Interactive Trials Feature
Cycle Arena

Anyone know what the shops are usually like there? Is it the sort of place to get crazy deals as I'm after a set of rock shox revelations and I've found them at a pretty good price online but don't know whether to hold out for the show or not

Guys,

It won't be like the NEC bikeshows with crazy deals. It's more of a showroom style event with all the distributors/manufacturers showing their 09 kit!

Cheers.

I have to be honest, yeah you get to see some amazing bike but thats about it really (unless your 18 or over or with a parent then you can que up and test a bike) But you cant buy any of the products you see. It was a fun day out but got bored in the cycle show after a hour or 2 and had about 9 hours left to get the train back home. Its one of those things im glad of done but wont go back for a few years.

Have you seriously got nothing better to say or do than write what you wrote above? Your not even a Cockney or English by the looks of things!

Uhm... superfly... Why do you have a lowercase letter for your name? Hummm... No I don't live in England. But, I was born there, spend most summers there, most of my family lives there. I will always stand up for my mother country. I'm not sure why you are talking about a show that happens overseas in a web site in Canada. Shame there are some people from England that waste their time dissing others. Get on with talking about the topic at hand - or is it that you know nothing about the show, even though you live in England and so have actually nothing interesting to say anyways... Sorry, for this every body else. Just don't like stinkers.

...haha! I just realised another thing - You clearly don't know that it is superfly that wrote this article. Please don't go round telling any more people you were born in England stinkbat, you're an embarassment.
