"Monster", no not the Mother In Law, I'm on about the drink! Is now available in the U.K, so it's time to fill up your fridges and unleash the beast!
Monster Energy Drink is the best selling Energy Drink is the USA with over one billion cans sold each year! We've been dying to get hold of this here in the U.K for ages and it's now finally hitting the shops.
Monster Energy Drink is the best selling Energy Drink is the USA with over one billion cans sold each year! We've been dying to get hold of this here in the U.K for ages and it's now finally hitting the shops.
Bad news for all you NPS racers who blagged a few extra cans at every race this year. Your Del Boy black market wheeler dealing days are now over, everyone can buy them now in the shops.
Available in 500ml cans there's enough in there to get you wired for a race run and zip around on your ride.
Three flavors shown here are the:
Original - Green Can.
Low Carb - Blue Can.
Ripper - Yellow Can (Energy + Juice).
Expect to see it down at the corner shop, supermarkets and hopefully in the clubs and pubs mixed with a drop of Vodka perhaps? Birmingham's Broad Street this Christmas is going to be F&%kin Mental!
Monster is distributed in the U.K by Halewood International who help ugly people like you get lucky by supplying girls with Lambrini and me with Red Square!

damn i was hoping for some more free stuff at the nps
i gave monster a try at this years eurobike... think red bull is just better. monster is only the new hype.
monster is about half the price though, where im from at least, as well as rockstar and pretty much all the others
For a few weeks I was drinking 3 a day. For a year I drank one a day. Now I'm off energy drinks because I don't want to have a heart attack before I get into my twenties.
i used to drink monster every day. no that i don't drink it at all i feel healthier and not tired all the time
you guys are still missing out in the UK, Monster assault is the best tasting one, and monster ripper is called m-80 over here, but its good you guys can still have some monster, its the only good tasting energy drink.
in my oppinoin monster sucks, it doesnt really work, redbull or full throttle work better, monster is basiclly a fab
What is it with this craze for energy drinks.
Basically all you need is water. Its free, it doesnt kill you and you will have alot more money left to buy bike parts. Also it doesnt leave you feeling tired.

GO people! Buy monster energy AND red bull, because with the money they got from thirsty customers, they sponsor those BIG outdoor events for extreme sports! Basicly, im not buying those cheap little brand cans anymore...
in reply to jamesolivers note, if you think waters free you pay my water rates for a year! its f*cking expensive!! but i know what you mean.
this is retarded. We had monster in some supermarkets like 2 years ago. Anybody want to remind me that they're selling cars over here, too??
no way, how do the cars get to the island...? don't tell me you have ferries over there.... and the next question, how do you pay? with rocks? sheeps? or do you have something like money?
yerh weve had monster here for some time now . . . i always order packs of 24 off internet . . . lasts me ages and only 20 quid ish for 24 pack so cheaper than red bull n that
Oh yea! Such an pure energy burst when you drink a bottle of that magic elixir. Even though it's Vice versa in the next morning...
people want to spend there money on it its up to them
and we do buy expensive drinks like that for a reason

yep, through the UK Shimano distiributor. Apparently soon to be joined by the Kaos/Chaos version, however it's spelt, and with any luck, the Monster mini fridges and tshirts may start coming through too. (was having a chat with the rep on friday)
you guys are a little far, but im sure you have something there that tastes exactly the same. best tasting drink ever invented. lots of people only buy it for the can so they can go rolling around school with it, ive heard of people even filling it with water.

Made me laugh, it was cool being given it though.

They'll still be giving it out if monster still sponsors the series.
I think he means that you wont be able to sell it to your friends for ridiculously high prices any more.

who cares some n+1 "energy" drink...
who cares some n+1 "energy" drink...
I've been buying this for about a year from my local bargain booze, original is probably the best energy drink i would say although ripper is quite nice. Anyway its good to here that it is finally available all over
Whoa, they named the yellow monster different for the UK! Over here it's Monster M-80. It's good stuff!
thats why the uk's ppl are mostly heakthier then the usa, cause they don't have stuff like this
, but what can i say, during crankworx i lived on it haha
lol "Ripper" is called M-80 in North America and i think it tastes like ground up candy....f*ckin gross but i love the other
We Have Had Monster For Ages People Just Dont No Where To Get It From ! I Had It 2 Years Ago ! Never Had Ripper Tho !!!

I think this is just like any other add about drinks... It shouldn´t be in the Home page of PB...
Just another e-drink like all others but they hope to sell this to Hills fans

Not yet, wait for a couple of kids to kill themselves from drinking too much and they'll be gone. It's funny because NOTHING is bad for you in the right amounts... A can of monster or any energy drink once in a while if you're actually doing something physically/mentally taxing doesn't do you any harm... :/

im my opinion, redbull is way better.
1.its the original
2.its smaller, and a quicker drink (ive never finished a monster)
3.monster is gross

here at least, redbull is twice as expensive for a smaller can, so i don't get redbull for financial reasons
AMAZING Stuff true its been there for a while but ive not tried lo carb ive had the green on and ripper there both mint i always collect the caps and make stuff with em like a belt
D so yea anyways they need to supply it to more shops i think we can all agree
Hey, have fun with your now 80 year old heart in a 16 year old body. When they say this stuff is bad for you, it isn't a joke, it's like swallowing Prestone.
It's not bad for you, drinking several cans a day is bad for you... A bit like eating too much fruit, or drinking too much water...
No, it's actually quite bad for you. The active ingredients in energy drinks can have measured effects on someone's heart after the first can. My chemistry major friend said that you could basically go dead off of one can if in the right settings.
monsters been avaliable in the uk for a long time now,
the only one i haven't come accross is the ripper.

Its good that its out now, yeah bit late on the post now as you have been able to get it for the last few months. I can walk less than 5 mins from my house and buy it but still cool!
r u serious, it just came out for you guys, damn, the USA is basically past the energy drink stage, they f*ck you up, but go ahead and take it for a race, less competition for us
i hate all you americans who think ther better than every other country just because you get stuff a couple off weeks before us
weve had monster ages!!
weve had monster ages!!
im not sayin were better or anything, don't know where you got that but im just sayin this shit really does f*ck with you, ya itll give you "Fake" energy, but trust me you wouldnt wanna take this shit before a race, i was huge into MotoX and talked to Villopoto for a while up here in Mammoth and he said he doesnt even touch that shit, its water thats in all their energy drinks when theyre on the podium, im not sayin never drink it cause i love Red Bull cause its filled with Potassium, but that much caffiene just isnt good for you before a race, just feel how shaky your hands are after it
we've had monster available in london (england) for about 3 months and its selling at £1.20 a can from corner stores, so is about same price as Relentless original and inferno (although Relentess Juiced is £1.50) and a little more than Rockstar (typically £0.99 a can)
its kinda sad though, when you go to Whistler you get 8 different flavours of Rockstar? and all kinds of drinks we don't see here in UK?
Madison (Shimano importer in UK) are doing slabs of 24 cans at a reasonable price for trade customers...I never discuss trade prices on forums but its a little cheaper than retail if you have a "monster habit"
if you are worried about getting fat from the calories, drink the Monster Low-carb, its a lighter drink and not as sickly as Rockstar Sugar-Free (the white can)
the Monster Ripper isn't so nice, like drinking jungle juice...just my personal opinion
all this sh*t is bad for you, but who cares....you are gonna die one day so why not "spice up your day" and get hyped up on Red Bull / Relentless / Monster / Rockstar / Shark / Boost...whatever floats your boat
Relentless have 3 new flavours coming out very very soon and will all hit the market at same time
one thing about these "funny drinks" as we call them here at Esher Shore, they are definitely a good hang-over cure for the hard drinkers out there!!!

Its sad that you could be arsed writing all that about a can of fizzy pop with loads of sugar and caffeine added.
Sugary drinks are not energy drinks! Don't believe the hype kids...

Right, let me put you right over the web since I can't grab you and beat it into you because this BS is getting annoying.
Sugar is a form of carbohydrate which is a fuel the muscle burns to produce energy, along with oxygen. Caffeine increases your heart rate creating more blood flow and thus sharpens your reactions and thought processes, it also reduces fatigue after exercise.

Oh dear lionel17, looks like you have been believing what you have been reading on the back of the can and that the marketing people have successfully done their job on you. If you knew anything about sports science you would realise how wrong you are! Look up the effects of sugar and caffeine on athletes. I'll repeat again, sugar and caffeine in a fizzy drink do not make a good energy fuel, no matter how clever its marketed...
A few things instantly spring to mind:
a) I bet your girlfriend (if you have one) begs to differ.
b) You are as dim as you are making out to be.
c) Taxi for lionel!

You're a fool if your saying that taking carb's before anything physical does not help performance, or caffeine even. You would basically be saying ALL the biggest names in sports nutrition are BS'ing (SIS, Powerbar, Torq) to name a few.
Where did I say that "taking carb's before anything physical does not help performance"? I can't recall saying that! What I'm trying to get across to you is that simple sugars are not a good source of carbohydrates for sustainable energy, neither is caffeine, any fool knows that. They have their place, but not as a sole source of energy. SIS, Powerbar, Torq on the other hand are all in a very different league (as in they work) to a fizzy pseudo "sports" drink.
As for you lionel, See point B above.

ya i think orange monster is the best, it beats any other energy drink for me, other products like red bull are way to expencive( and i dont really feel a change in energy in red bull)
and hey, i didnt even realize the UK didnt have it before now

I tried some at the worlds and liked the taste, though I didn´t really feel the "buzz" of the thing. But it certainly helped me to concentrate. I´d love to get some over here in Germany. Red Bull tastes awful and is horribly expensive. Plus the cans are way smaller than monster, a complete waste of space and material.
f*ck me pink bike a bit behind monsters been out in the uk for ages lol
we anit that behind.I only realy the logo of monster i drink redbull mostly but may have the acotinal monster or rockstar

Carbohydrates are essential, so are the various vitamins you find in any energy drink, i'm not saying you HAVE to drink them, but they DO contain things you NEED.
as if you UK people are all pumped for Monster. its just another load of bullsh*t that gives a 5 minute burst than a heart attack soon after.
NO. It will NOT give you a heart attack if you stay within the directions on the back of the can which in the case of monster it's no more then 3 cans a day, if you decide to drink a dozen cans and die from a heart attack, you deserve it.
whats all this about ive been able to buy monster from the local shop for about year and half and the local bike shop has been selling it whats all this about. YOU HAVE TO LOVE THE MONSTER
m8 if it gives u a gurn face like dat i aint drinking it!! only jokin luv da stuff its goin cheap aswell atm cus not alot of places sell it im liking 79p atm its a gr8 price for a 500ml can
Monster has been here for ages and tastes like cack haha... and it's more expensive than relentless.... do the math? im sticking with coca colas relentless.
Gatorade or lucozade for me, i drank monster on two occasions and both times it made me real ill, went to the dr's and did a bit of research, has something in it that can cause serious stomach issues, good luck to you all who drink that shit!

All that time they didn't have monster??? I feel sorry for them.
I probably drink it a bit more than I should.
How much are you really hurting your heart by drinking this stuff?
I've had 2 at a time twice. I never exceed 2.5 per day though.... usually I only drink about 1.5 energy drinks per week.
They taste funny, and they keep you awake for a few hours after you think you would pass out otherwise from tiredness. (So I don't think that is healthy.) However, biking itself is also quite dangerous. Does anyone here doubt that biking reduces the life of your joints by various amounts? Yet you still keep biking. I don't think that 1-2 energy drinks per week will kill you by the time you hit 65.... It might keep you from hitting 80, but once you hit 70 you can't bike a lot anymore anyways.

bs to most of all that... my grandpa just hit 73 and still rides, riding is better for you and less stress than jogging.
vitamin b12 is the one responsible for the hype... not the caffine... tho it is a stimulant its about the same as a mt dew 1 liter (compared to a 16oz energy) some have higher levals than others but not by a land slide...taurine and guaran(not sure on spelling) help focus and slightly improve motor skills... so there not all that bad... dinking pop is probly worse for you. same with coffe. so you might as well enjoy

in Canadian stores like NoFrills, we gat Red Rain. It tastes like fruit punch thats carbonated, it hypes your attention up,peels your eyeballs open and costs $3.99 for 4 250 ml cans.
I've never had a carbonated drink ever. I drink about 3 gallons of milk a week. And one can never forget gatorade.
theres a newer one out called venome.. its in a red aluminum bottle with a snake on it... the shizz works!!!
monster is the only energy drink with 35mg of caffeine in... red bull only has 32! so monster clearly owns everything!
monsters been in the uk for ages, ruduex this arty farty shop sold it for 1.50 a can, and a cash and carry sold it for like 99 a can.....whys this just coming out now?
or is it offically being shiped to every major super market??
if that isnt the case then WTF why are u telling us, we alll ready know?!

It's only now officially being distributed throughout the U.K and will start to appear in your local store. As you can see from above some parts of the country (including here in Birmingham) people just haven't seen it. The amount of riders and spectators at every race that ask me where to buy it from is unreal.
