Actually they're owned by GM. I'm pretty sure "who owns Saab" in google would give the answer.

flag skylerd (Nov 25, 2008 at 11:01)
they might be owned by another company, but the fact is it won't affect their quality. they have separate factories, separate designers, separate quality control, and common ownership. the ownership only affects where your money goes...partially.

GM is pretty much bankrupt right now. Which means saab would be as well. Why? Because nobody wants one.

Their company has been dying for the last 10 + years, and the fall of the economy in the US has been a prime factor in their immediate situation - they are essentially begging for loans right left and center.

I personally have basically no experience with driving cars, car mechanics, etc. so I cannot give you my opinion on GM quality, but I can tell you that their business is basically dead, and the two factors that caused this were: decreasing sales (long term) and the economy (recently).

yea, saab is probably gonna be sold off to someone else if GM is driven to the ground.

this 9-3 is not a bad car, a lot better than the previous 93 that's pretty much a WRX...

Yeah, saab cars have always caught my eye, and seem to be pretty nice. Hopefully they aren't dragged into the ground with GM.

GM is requesting 'bail out funds' current;y from the US government... yay another reson for our wonderful national deficit to increase, god I hope our economy starts to improve soon Frown

GM doing the more reliable car avaible in canada? Are you kidding me?! There no way near the reliability of Honda's of even now Hyundai. And hopefully in Québec there not the car you see the most on the roads. American manufacturer makes some of the best dang racing cars in the world, but for mass production they kind of lost it.

I mean if their cars were so great they would be exported a lot more like european, japanese and korean cars are imported here. American cars are mainly sold, well in america and not much elsewhere.

P.S.: Props to SAAB though, nothing to say agains them.

SAAB make damn good fighter planes, pretty sure everyone on here except "lcstay10" would be more than happy to pick up the keys for that little beauty! Just note it's left hand drive, us Brits and a few others drive on the right side of the road.

Anyway less talk about the car, more about Remys achievements! Well done fella, a true Mountain Bike Racer with all the skills..

Bottom line...That particular model is made by Subaru. It is the same as an Impreza. I have an Impreza (2006) and it is definitely the same car...PERIOD.

flag Malamute (Nov 25, 2008 at 9:34)
Negative. The 9-2x is the Impreza version. The story clearly says its a 9-3 that was won.

flag hung-l (Nov 30, 2008 at 10:03)
Actually the 93 Aero is essentially a WRX with SAAB stylings. They took the WRX and made it more of a luxury car.

I have a peugeot, and it is a nice car...but it doesn´t matter. Remy won a car, it cost 0 € and a pretty good rides.
That is the only thing thath realy matters, beside the car he won the title, congratulations to him.
only hope to do more avalanches in the next season, even if do not win any car.
