Troy Lee Designs' Shaun Palmer D2 Limited Edition Lid!

Posted: Mar 13, 2009

You have all seen the Troy Lee Steve Peat Composite D2. I was pretty sure a Mr. Sam Hill was next in the line for a custom jobby. So who has snaked in there and done the deal?

None other than the legend that is Shaun Palmer himself...

Unfortunately I don't know too much on these lids, except that it's a D2 Carbon. No price has yet been confirmed though don't expect it to be cheaper than any of the current models.

This news is that fresh that these artworks are all that's available for viewing when I broke into their HQ.

Next? How about the new D3 rumors that have been flying around, only time will tell. What you can bet on is you will see it here first in detail and reviewed on Pinkbike.com

Cheers.

Can't put a price on safety, and I feel safest in a D2.

agreed, they aren't meant for durability they are a designer helmet. motocross style helmets are the safest, but they don't look "cool" so hardly anyone wears them.

The fact MX helmets are heavy, hot, and uncomfortable on an mtb may have something to do with it jp, rather than 'coolness'.

As for durability, helmets should be sacrificial, thats the idea.

floody, I do agree with you about moto style helmets. but i can get a light mtb 661 helmet for like 150? i feel just as safe in that and my wallet feels even safer.

not to say that this isn't the sickest looking helmet ever... my fav tld. the eyeballs and shit are too much. keep it simple and sexy.

aside from their carbon helmets, most of them are about $300. how is that over-priced?

Yeah I know what your saying but he does still bike and even though he dominatly snowboards, he still wears a D2 while racing so I guess it's for both but eather way, this helmet is SICK!
