Win Steve Peat's Exclusive One off Race Kit!
May 13, 2008Published by superflyWin Steve Peats signed 2008 race kit as pictured here on an online auction!
All proceeds go towards the Stephen Murray Family Fund. Win Steve Peats signed race kit as pictured here! Will Longden of MBUK / Bike Radar fame and myself on behalf of SPS Events (UK National Downhill Series) bid on this race kit recently at a charity auction in aid of Stephen Murray. The bids were going through the roof and Will Longden asked me to join him to secure the kit at £1,000.00 U.K Sterling. Will dipped into his own pocket and came up with the other half of £500.00 so hats off to him. Will then came up with the idea of re-auctioning the kit to the highest bidder on e-Bay with all funds going back into the Stephen Murray fund! All the kit is a size large and will be signed by the main man himself: Steve Peat. The winning bidder can also have the shirt personalized with whatever they want Steve to write on it! The race kit will then be posted any where in the World free of charge. Now get bidding! It's all for a good cause.. The e-bay auction will go live on the 18th of May 20:00 GMT here in the U.K. Get over to e-Bay from Sunday night when the auction goes live to do your bidding Stephen Murray is a BMX Athlete that could use help from the BMX community. Stephen is a professional dirt jumper that is well known for his amazing tricks like double back flips, 360 back flips, turndown back flips and so much more. Stephen Murray came to the United States from New Castle Great Britain over 10 years ago with a dream of riding with the best athletes in the sport. He came over here originally as a BMX racer but quickly took to Dirt Jumping and Freestyle in the scene of Huntington Beach and Sheep Hills. 2001 and 2002 marked the biggest year for Stephen Murray of his career. He won the Gold Medal in Dirt Jumping at X Games and back to back wins at the Gravity Games, the two biggest contests at the time. Stephen is quoted on his own riding style, “I go 110%, go big and send it!” (EXPN.com) On Friday June 22nd at the AST Dew Tour BMX Dirt Finals in Baltimore, MD, Stephen Murray took a horrific fall on the final set of the dirt section while sending a double back flip. Stephen has received career ending injuries to his spinal cord and vertebrae. The injuries that Stephen sustained are no doubt going to affect him for a life time. Medical bills alone can reach astronomical dollar amounts. As a BMX/Cycling community we have the power to help him. Stephen is a young 27 year old and is the financial provider for a wife and two young children. Unlike the NFL or other major professional sports which have unions that provide funds to athletes who are injured, BMX has nothing like this. BMX however is much more like a family than any other sport. Now is the time we need to reach out and support one of our family members like never before. Fingers crossed this auction will go off the richta scale! If that's beyond your means then you can still help out as there is now a new way that you can donate funds! Go to www.stephenmurrayfamilyfund.com where there is a link directly to the Pay Pal account for Stephen Murray. You can determine your own amount and even if you are not registered with PayPal you can still donate. www.stephenmurrayfamilyfund.com |

I think you to stop mutilating the english language- I will donate another 20 for you and you take 20 and put it towards Rosetta Stone.
man... i watched that crash a few months back and i was scared to ride... i just didn't want to get hurt like that. so Get better soon Stephen!
I didnt think you could watch the crash.
the only way it can be seen is if you were there, or have seen footage from someone that was there.
All of the Dew Tour coverage camera's were blacked out.
I hate wacthing footage of it, because all you hear is Jamie be like 'ohhhh' and you don;t know whats happened. It scares/upsets me everytime. Being Paralysed is one of the things in life i fear the most
.
It's great to know that he's getting feeling back in his fingers.

Jesus, how life can be brutal. One day the guy does things that mortals cannot do, the next day he has to learn how to breathe or move his fingers. That's truly sad, though he must have known the risk, as everybody should know. What to say not to sound ehkm pathetic? I'll probably stick to: stay strong, man.
does anyone know where i can see the video, i herd about stephens accident about a year ago but i've never seen the video...i wish i had a job, i'd donate like 150 to them
