Maxxis Cup Round 2 in Vigo

Here are a quick few words and the results from the Maxxis Cup Round 2 in Vigo from last week. Jess Stone is behind the keyboard today and she placed 2nd at both Gouveia and Vigo rounds and it's only her first year riding in Elite!
Maxxis Cup – Vigo
70 meters out of the start gate you were thrown into the most technical part of the whole track. You rode down a dusty, steep rock slab in which you had to jump over a gap on to the next boulder. It also had a very tight, loose right handed corner. You had to land, brake and turn in what was only a bike’s length so this was going to make or break your race run!
After this, it was pretty flat out with a few berms and a hip jump followed by a rock garden. This was then the first of the two north shore jumps. The second followed after a few turns. The next section went into a tight, rocky switchback with optional risky straight lines! You were then over the step down and from here on it was flat out. There were a couple more small rock gardens and dusty turns and a step down to flat. The track continued with a 25ft jump which was where the riders styled it up! By this point you were knackered as you had been sprinting for about a minute and a half at least in the heat and all you wanted to do is have a sit down and have a cold drink! However, this was the final sprint to the road gap into the finish arena.
RESULTS:
Cadets
Flockhart not faster than the Juniors this time, 13th in Elite if he was old enough. Look at the next two, all from a wet Scotland doing Chris Ball proud. Think the English are fast, think again, these young guns have the monopoly. Top three at the Junior Worlds in a couple of years, you bet! 12 riders in Cadets, only four were Spanish!
FLOCKHART, Sam 2:40.620
MCGLONE, Fraser 2:46.417

Elite Women
Six ladies raced and the top three were British! Moseley on board the Trek wiped the floor clean with a 22 second lead. Jess Stone on board that 2Stage bike we tested out here on Pinkbike. Curd previous Junior World Champs Silver Medalist at Fort William 2007 finished nicely in third.

looks so fun.
The tree pics are from Gouveia (Portugal) from the week before Vigo (Spain). Someone should correct that.
